AI Data Analysis Tools: 4 Tested on One Spreadsheet

The best AI data analysis tools all work the same basic way: you upload a CSV, ask a question in plain English, and get back charts and answers. But they are not all the same. Some are free, some cost $20 to $45 a month, and they handle messy data very differently. So I built a small monthly-expenses spreadsheet — the kind of file almost anyone has — uploaded it to four tools, and compared what came back. The test: one spreadsheet, four tools I made a simple six-month expense file, January through June 2026. Eight categories: rent, groceries, dining out, transport, subscriptions, shopping, utilities, and savings transfers.
